Who we are

Founded on 23rd August 1992 in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Horn of Africa Voluntary Youth Committee (HAVOYOCO) is a regional non-governmental, non-partisan, humanitarian and development organization, with its Head quarter in Hargeisa, and operational in the Horn of Africa (Somaliland, Somalia and Ethiopia). HAVOYOCO is also registered, operational, as sister organizations in USA and UK.

The organization has proven and well-established policies, systems and procedure which guides for its operation and program implementation. Functional policies of the organization include, financial, procurement and logistics, Human resource, Child protection, gender and risk management to mention some. According to Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers (HACT) conducted by UNICEF and UNDP in which HAVOYOCO was categorized as low risk organization. Similarly, HAVOYOCO fared good to the Due diligence exercise of Oxfam.

Since its inception in 992, HAVOYOCO has been a key player in the humanitarian sector, Development and Resilience sector and has worked and implemented programs and projects with many partners include UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, WHO, Oxfam, EU, care international, Save the children, USADF, ARC, NRC, DRC, DFID, DF Norway, FCA, Trademark East Africa and others.

HAVOYOCO programs and projects focus on the needs of the most vulnerable populations. We have a team who have different expertise to ensure successful implementation of our projects.
