HAVOYOCO (news) – Horn of Africa Youth Voluntery committee has appointed Omar Sh. Abdillahi Essa as the new executive director of HAVOYOCO who was previously the chairperson of HAVOYOCO’s governing body (BOD). He began his four year term in September 2012. Former executive director Mr. Ismail Mohamed will serve as the chairperson of the Board of Directors.
A ceremony was organized by the organizations’ administration for official announcement of the new director. The event was participated by the organizations staff including program coordinators, project managers, administration and other staff.
Mr. Ismail Mohamed, chairperson of BOD, said: “I thank everybody for their hard work during the past four years, your unconditional support was the inspiration of my work. For the new ED, I wish successful years, joy and satisfaction in the fulfillment of his mandate. I’m expecting from everybody to provide same support to the new director".
“I am really excited about this chance, it is a tremendous opportunity to make a difference to the lives of people who we serve and to change their lives for the better”, said the new executive director. “Things have changed for the last few years, many obstacles were met and solved, while others continue to face us including environmental changes and economic crises, I’m confident we can make change, a better change. I have the opportunity to work with intellectual and energetic young staffs that are willing to serve their communities”. He concluded.
The event has been held in HAVOYOCO’s meeting room on 3rd September, 2012.
